I get a lot of my travel inspiration from a website called Atlas Obscura. They always have a lot of pictures showcasing the destinations. It was located in a small town and didn’t look very big. When I discovered that this particular place was located near two spots I had been longing to visit, my excitement reached new heights!  I figured it would be “free”; after all it’s in the name “Innesfree Gardens”.  Then I would go on to the Bennet Girls College and see if I could get in there and if not on to the Dover Church Cave.   

As photographers we tend to surround ourselves with images, as if we didn’t consume enough visual media in our everyday life.  We scroll images on Facebook, Instagram, websites, books, magazines, and on and on.  Pictures flyby us at the speed of light.  Which, consequentially is what we capture, light. I just read a study that was conducted at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC, that said that the median time spent viewing a masterpiece was 17 seconds; 17 seconds!  Does that seem absurd to anyone else?  Our TV, internet, Google based digital age has made us so passive that

Bear Mountain St Park holds a lot of cherished memories for me.  I don’t give my stepfather much credit in my life. He was verbally abusive and had a narcissistic nature. But he did impart to me a deep appreciation and curiosity for the beauty and marvels of the natural world.  The year he married my mother, we went camping for their honeymoon; me, my sister, his son, and two daughters, one of which brought a friend. There is a new show on Broadway, that I’m dying to see, Hadestown.  I introduced to it maybe six months ago, before it opened.  It was a hit off Broadway, and when it finally opened it won all kinds of Tony Awards.  It was a gentleman I work with that told me about it; he thought I would like it.  At first, I thought he called it 80’s Town, and I thought why would he think I would like a show about the 80’s.  But he was right!  When I finally found the show, he was talking about, I loved
